Carré is \"square\" in French which describes the general shape of the fruits. The small fruits are cubic, thick walled and super-sweet with a rich mineral flavor. While the fruits are almost always bell-shaped and 3” by 3”, you may occasionally find a fruit that grows a little conical and up to 6”. If you do, legend has it you'll have great luck! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePetit Carré de Nice plants are stocky and rarely grow over 24\" which makes them suitable for containers. The plants have fairly dense foliage and are a mid-season producer in most climates. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis variety is one that locals to Nice almost always use when making Les Petits Farcis Niçois (pictured above) which are vegetables stuffed with a mixture of bread crumbs, herbs and meat. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOrigin:\u003c\/strong\u003e The parent seed of our Petit Carré de Nice peppers came from the garden of Mama's cousin who lives on a beautiful ridge behind Nice, France that overlooks the Mediterranean (Her garden view is pictured above).
