Holy Myrrhbearer Tomato
This very rare tomato was reportedly bred in the 1800s by Russian monks and was shared with one of the Sisters of the Holy Myrrhbearers, who shared them with grower Kristi Appelhans. The beautiful heart-shaped tomatoes are usually about 3" long with the occasional honker up to 6" and 1 lb. The Holy Myrrhbearer Tomato has a delicious flavor and it is great for sauces, canning and fresh eating.
Origin: We received the parent seed of our Holy Myrrhbearer Tomato from a friend who gardens in Ithaca, NY. They received the seeds from a friend at the Holy Myrrhbearers Monastery just down the road in Otsdawa, NY.
