Container Garden Seed Collection
Even small spaces can produce lots of flowers and vegetables and with that fact in mind we put together a collection of 10 seed varieties that grow great in containers. This wonderfully diverse collection can be grown in pots on a patio or even indoors in a sunny room. The inspiration for this collection was our friend Valéry Tsimba, a Parisian author and Master Gardener, who grows a huge assortment of plants on her balcony in Paris. Her book, “Container Gardening the Permaculture Way” Sustainably Grow Vegetables and More in Your Small Space, is a fantastic resource for anyone who grows in a small space. We recommend using 2-5 gallon pots for these varieties and while all of these seed varieties thrive in containers, they can also be sown in the garden!
The collection includes:
Genovese Basil (Ocimum basilicum) - approximately 50 seeds
Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) - approximately 30 seeds
Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) - approximately 50 seeds
Zinnia (Zinnia elegans) - approximately 30 seeds
Sweet Shishito Pepper (Capsicum annuum) - approximately 20 seeds
Dwarf Teddy Bear Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) - approximately 30 seeds
Tokyo Micro-Dwarf Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - approximately 20 seeds
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) - approximately 30 seeds
Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) - approximately 50 seeds
Lettuce Mix (Lactuca sativa) - approximately 100 seeds
The collection of ten seed packets comes in a cloth gift bag and we include a pamphlet with a little history of each variety and a description of where we harvested the parent seed.
We hope you enjoy growing these wonderful varieties!
