Italian Seed Collection
Italy is known world-wide for having some of the best cuisine. If you ask an Italian, they’ll tell you it’s due in part to fresh and high-quality ingredients that are prepared simply with love and passion. We have made dozens of trips to Italy over the years because of the proximity to Nice, France where Mama’s parents live. It’s just a 25-minute drive to the border at Ventimiglia. These ten varieties are some of our favorites that we brought home to our garden from friends and family in Italy and we hope you enjoy!
The collection includes:
Borlotti Bush Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) - approximately 25 seeds
Costoluto San Remo Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - approximately 15 seeds
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) - approximately 40 seeds
Tromboncino squash (Cucurbita moschata) - approximately 30 seeds
Giant of Italy Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) - approximately 50 seeds
Sweet Nonna Pepper (Capsicum annum) - approximately 20 seeds
Cuor di Bue Albenga Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - approximately 15 seeds
Chioggia Beet (Beta vulgaris) - approximately 50 seeds
Genovese Basil (Ocimum basilicum)- approximately 50 seeds
Lettuce Mix (Lactuca sativa) - approximately 100 seeds
The collection of ten seed packets comes in a cloth gift bag and we include a pamphlet with a little history of each variety and a description of where we harvested the parent seed in Italy.
We hope you enjoy growing these wonderful Italian varieties. Grazie!
