Black Knight Scabiosa (Scabiosa atropurpurea)
The almost-black blooms of this pincushion flower are stunning in the garden and make a wonderful, long-lasting cut-flower. 30" plants are drought tolerant and grow well in a wide range of soils. Beautiful in mass-plantings, these scabiosa are a favorite of bees and butterflies.
Origin: The parent seed came from a friend who has a beautiful garden in Swannanoa, NC. She has saved the seeds for many years and selected a varied range of dark colors.
(Approximately 50 seeds per packet)
Planting Instructions: Sow a group of 3 seeds 1/8" deep every 12" in full sun after frost or we like to start seeds indoors 6 weeks before last frost and transplant after frost.
