Famous for starring in Thai and SE Asian cuisine. The lush green leaves are sweet with an anise flavor and the light purple flowers attracts lots of beneficial pollinators. Thai basil is wonderful in coconut soups, curries and pairs very well with our Santaka chili peppers.
Origin: We collected the parent seed of our Thai basil in the garden of a dear family friend who lives in Nonthaburi, a city just north of Bangkok. We stay with this family when we travel to Thailand and we always enjoy all the fresh produce from their gardens, especially their Thai basil!
(Approximately 100 seeds per packet)
Planting Instructions: Sow in spring after frost when soil is at least 60 F. One seed 1/4" deep every 12" in full sun to part shade. Great for planting in containers!
