Thai Basil (Ocimum basilicum)
Famous for starring in Thai and SE Asian cuisine. The lush green leaves are sweet with an anise flavor and the light purple flowers attracts lots of beneficial pollinators. Thai basil is wonderful in coconut soups, curries and pairs very well with our Santaka chili peppers.
Origin: We collected the parent seed of our Thai basil in the garden of a dear family friend who lives in Nonthaburi, a city just north of Bangkok. We stay with this family when we travel to Thailand and we always enjoy all the fresh produce from their gardens, especially their Thai basil!
