Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
The Cherokee Purple tomato is a well-loved heirloom variety from the Cherokee people of NC and TN. The purple tinged fruits from this tomato consistently win competitions for taste and we agree having grown this variety in our garden for a decade. Heirloom tomato varieties are often less productive than hybrids but we think the flavor is worth it! (Indeterminate)
Origin: We were given the parent seed of this variety in 2000 by a friend who gardens and saves seeds in Swannanoa, NC.Â
(Approximately 20 seeds per packet)
