Taiga Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
A cross between Ludmilla's Pink Heart and Captain Lucky by breeder Karen Oliver, the large oxheart fruits are quad-colored with shades of bronze, yellow, green and red on both the exterior and interior of the fruits. The flavor is sweet, rich, and complex with a well-balanced fruit-like and savory depth. The robust plants are potato-leafed and the fruits have very few seeds.Â
Origin:Â We were given the parent seed of our Tiaga tomato by our friend Duck Chugger (John) who is a Master gardener, hunter, hot-sauce wizard, father and all-around great guy. He is formerly of Alameda, CA and is now starting a farm in the rich soils of Gridley, CA.Â
(Approximately 20 seeds per packet)
Germination Rate:Â All of our seed varieties exceed 80% germination and are re-tested every 6 months.
Planting Instructions: We recommend starting tomato seeds indoors in a bright and warm location 4 to 6 weeks before last frost date in spring. Transplant after danger of frost in full sun and trellis. Â
