Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
This big red beauty was developed in the 1920's by W.T. Woods & Sons, an old seed company in Richmond, VA. Brimmers have a classic garden tomato flavor and the big fruits routinely grow over 1 lb. and are perfectly round. We've found this variety is great for tomato sandwiches and BLTs and they make a great canning tomato too. Brimmers were developed in the hot and humid mid-Atlantic region so if you have similar conditions in your garden they should be a stand-out variety!
Wood's Famous Brimmer is a tomato variety that was almost lost and we're doing our part to bring them back to gardens across the country.
Origin: The parent seed of our Wood's Famous Brimmer came to us from the garden of a friend in Swannanoa. NC.
